Super Street/ Sportsman Class 2011 rules

Super Street Short Track Racing Series continue on the bottom of the page

NO TRACTION CONTROLS PERIOD

1- Cars must utilize a street type American made chassis 1965 or newer. 108 in min. wheelbase, 3100lb base weight at all times after the feature race with driver. 

2- Car must utilize factory frame section from front of steering box to rear spring pockets on chassis. Cross member must remain a OEM stock component and in OEM location, but may be modified for oil pan and fuel pump clearance. All rear mounts must be stock OEM mounts in stock OEM location on chassis and unaltered!! on the lower section of frame. Leaf spring cars must retain all the stock frame front to rear.

3- No aftermarket lower a-arms and no cutting of a-arm (shorter or longer) and all mounts must be in stock OEM location and unaltered on chassis.

4- Aftermarket upper a-arms and mount o.k. - #1 spark plug cannot go back any further than the top ball joint on drivers side.

5- No aftermarket rear trailing arms, no 3 links or pan hard bar setups. No made for racing front spindle, must be stock OEM style spindles, must run stock type steel calipers on rear-end, can run wilwood front calipers as long as they are gm type and mount on stock spindle brackets. You can run aftermarket hubs and rotors on front for the hard braking at KMS. Must run stock type front sway bar. No driver adjustments besides brake bias in car.

6- No quick change rear ends, 9in ford o.k. disc brakes o.k.

7- Shocks must be steel, economy type, CANNOT run externally adjustable shocks, or gas rechargeable shocks. ( any shock can be claimed for 75.00 ea. Any one refusing claim will lose points and money for that racing night)

8- Can run racing springs. No coilovers Rear springs must mount on top of rear-end housing. All leaf spring cars must mount in stock OEM location.

9- Maximum tread with of cars front and rear is 78in. measured from outside of tire to outside of tire

 

Transmission

1- Standard Auto trans w/working torque converter- NO direct drives. 50lb weight break for automatic

2- OEM type manual transmission

3- Can run any clutch assy. cannot run any smaller than 7.25 dia. 

4- Must have 2 driveshaft loops, no oil coolers inside car.

5- All transmissions must have all working gears.

 

Wheels and Tires

1- Maximum width of rim 8 in, must be steel, No wide 5

2- Must run track tire ,Towel city recap horizontal blue dot only!!!!

Engine

1- Engine up to 365 cu in must weight 3100lb any engines over 365cu in must weight 3300lb

2- Heads must be steel and 23 degree type. Roller rockers ok, but no shaft rocker arm systems.

3- Must run steel block and heads. No 2, 3,4 or 5 stage dry sump systems or dry sump tanks. Oil accumulators are ok. Can run a single stage oil pump belt driven and must retain the wet sump oil pan, no dry sump oil pans.

4- Must run 4412 2 barrel carburetor and it must retain stock unaltered bottom base plate that includes butterflies and shaft!! Must have a  booster . Carbs. will be gauged at the bottom for proper specs.  One spacer plate or adapter not to exceed 1 ¼ thick.

5- Headers ok. Cannot run 180 degree.  Crossovers  are ok.

6- GM Vortex heads only get a 50lb weight break

7- Roller cams are discouraged but for those that have them you must weight 75lb more for them

Bodies

1-Can run any body except for open wheel bodies

2-Must run a front and rear firewall which will be inspected by tech officials

 

KMS has the right to add or take away weight on any car at anytime for any reasons!!!

Example if the cars running big motors are dominating we will add weight or drop the weight of the small engine cars.

 

2011 Super Street Short Track Racing Series

 All rules apply to rules above with the exclusion of

1-Cars running 365ci and over must weight 3200lb

2-Any cars that runs a cast iron intake can deduct 25lbs

3-Any cars that run cast iron exhaust can deduct 25lbs

4-#88958602 Crate motor can deduct 50lbs

5- Any car running a single disc stock type clutch setup flywheel no less than 14lb can deduct 50lbs

6-Any cars that have stock mount front shocks and no weight bolts can deduct 100lb rear wedge bolts are ok

7- Crate motors are ok but must run part (#88958602) and must be completely stock untouched, can run a 1in spacer under carb. with no more than .065 thousand thick gasket. NO AIR LEAKS OF ANY KIND!!!!!

8-Carbs. for crate motors only must be a Holley 4150ser. part #80541-1 650 cfm. No modifications of any kind MUST BE STOCK!!

GM Performance Parts (#88958604) Crate Engine Allowed – Engine must have factory seals with proof of purchase (serial numbers required) or be tagged by KMS Technical Director. CARBURETOR - One 4150 Series Carburetor, maximum 650 CFM stock!!,(unaltered in any way) with a 1-inch spacer plate. NO AIR LEAKS OF ANY KIND!! If running Crate motor, the car is required to weigh same as 365 cubic inch and under base weight, which is 3100 lbs.
 

Series tires will be the Towel City Recap Blue Dots with the horizontal pattern only!!

When and if we run any 1/2 mile tracks there will be a weight penalty added to aftermarket body cars. And tires will be announced for the 1/2 mile tracks when we run them.

 

Payout for series $1200.00 to win $100.00 to start

Also will be fast qualifier money added and continuities money added thru the field

 

 Race dates for 2011

May 29th, Aug 6th Saturday Night Gene Mitchell Memorial and Sept 4th. Still looking at a couple more races hopefully to come at some different tracks

There will be a 50.00 dollar entry fee for all the series races

Register for your car number ASAP it is on a first come basis no duplicates There will be a 25.00 dollar membership and number fee.
